I blame Chris.

this is all chris's fault. space shuttle discovery in washington dc. due to work obligations i wasn't able to visit until saturday afternoon and the place was packed with people.

30 shots handheld (tripods not allowed). stacked and aligned in photoshop, people masked out by hand, then sections were recreated where there was people or their shadows in every shot. i'd love to redo this shot on a weekday morning sometime.

We all have a lot to blame Chris for...my financial layouts for an X100 and now an X-E1...and every now and then I lose a little sleep as I think about some of his images...

Great shot, Beth!

Nicely done, Beth. Amazing, how much goes into creating such a beautiful image in the digital realm. :)

Glad I'm able to cause so much trouble! :D

Amazing shot Beth - all that work!

Sure - if that makes the 'sell' easier to swmbo - i'm happy to take the fall for your Fuji habit :D

Nice shot Beth and some pretty nice work to erase the people. I would like to say you can automate this process in photoshop though:)

thanks. tried that first (cause i'm lazy), smart objects set to median, didn't work. it got rid of 75% of the people, but left lots of ghosting and splotches from shadows. off to the right there was a large group of people that never really left, two or three would leave and a few more would take their place. i ended up flipping a dupe layer horizontally and using that for the railing.
