I'm not a believer, but there is something about a very old Kirk that makes me smile. This was Open Doors Day at the local Dalmeny Kirk. It's a Norman Kirk, btw.

How very apropos that a Norman kirk should have had at one time a member of its parish named William Conquer. (Maybe that was his name prior to Hastings?) Also, I never thought about where JC might have been buried, although I knew it had something to do with a stone.

There is something about an old kirk. The cornerstone of a community for centuries, has an air about it; if walls could talk...
A fine looking building, there is a serene calm to the interior shot.

I have similar sentiments and also mixed feelings. Small churches are not such an issue, but I cannot help but wonder what mankind could have achieved instead had we not been wasting our time building vast edifices to the glory of a fantasy figure!

Anyway aside from that the shot of the vicar (or whatever he's called) is perfect both in composition and ambiguity.
