Ikea Picture Frames

For years now I have been using Ribba frames from Ikea for basic print presentation. Today we took a trip to Ikea in Southampton to pick up a few more. These frames used to be made of real wood and were superb value for money. They are now thin veneer / foil over MDF. The corners don't fit and they are just plain junk!! None of the others were much better. Very disappointed.

So, no new frames today and we returned with only 3 packets of crackers!!

Thumbs down for Ikea! :(

More corner cutting from suppliers of mass products, I've been using Dunhelm, found their prices reasonable and quality too but a bit limited on size etc. I really want 1:1 ratio but had to take a standard 20 x 16 in the end, but value wise worth a punt me thinks...........

Thanks Kev, I'll check them out. I've got a stock of large square and standard rectangular frames in Germany but none in the UK (I took a stack over a few years ago in a van when they stopped selling oak frames in Ikea in Germany). Might have to bring some back!

I've had SKNNOBJRÖT and ÄRSJ WYP for years, but recently found that BÖÅBJJÖB and HERD INTOÖRS really improved my presentation.

Pete - Here's how IKEA creates new products, maybe this will explain everything:

Loganberry jam, fish candy and daim (used to be dime...wtf) bars
i realy like ikea, but bloody hell some of te stuff they sell is ****!
We bought some knives ... Basically because they were cheap! They were so bad it's unreal!
but then on our lack tv stand for £34 is brilliant... I really can't fathom the quality control procedure!

Mmmmhh!! Processed meat balls from the cafe are so wrong but very nice.
It's a day out in its own Ikea is.
I bought a chest of drawers 2 years ago and it's as much use as mud flaps on a snail now!
As soon as I put the first screw in the thing as instructed, it came straight through and out of the 'finished' surface, exposing the cheap nasty **** that it's made of. Lol
Only in the last 2 years have I only bought original vintage shabby oak furniture. My dinning room table is 90 years old and stronger than the walls of my 15 year old house! Lol
Ikea is a great day out, has lovely food, and is brilliant eye candy...... But that's about it. :)

I love watching couples having a stand-up argument because the huge trolly of cr@p they just bought won't fit in their Fiat 500! :D

Did they not think about that as they self selected the wardrobe and king sized bed!
