Ok, I am fine but this abandoned house in the Namib desert in Namibia outside the ghost town of Kolmanskuppe sure is lonely!

This is a fascinating part of the world and I keep on wanting to go back, another trip planned later this year.

Yes Pete, a truly stunning place! Yes, I have plenty, will dig out more from the archives and post here. I have a family link to the place, my dad lived there when he was young, my grandfather was the headmaster of the school

Yes, have some! Other than more sand it looks kind of the same Need to do some scanning to preserve to old images. Also have a huge collection of slides (some of the first color slides) from WW2 that was handed down to me from the family.

I too have a lot of slides that I would quite like to digitise. I keep meaning to look around for a Bowens Illumitran to copy them using a DSLR. I do have large Nikon film scanner but it would just take too long with that. What's your plan?

Interesting location. I'm wondering what it would be like there when the wind was blowing some and the sand was in motion.

I have a scanner Pete but the process is too slow, I think the Illumitran is the way to go, if you can find one....

I know exactly what you mean Rudi. Here on the mountain front where I live we get big winds, especially in winter. They bring warm air but when the winds blow over 100 mph one is not going to go outside to take photographs.

That's the one Hamish. I don't actually own a TV (just a license - I must be mad!!). I watched it on the iPlayer. I was thinking much the same / as well as contemplating the significance of entropy of course!!
