...ok so I was listening to For Your Pleasure by Roxy Music this AM. Nothing to do with pictures, just reliving my teenage years the last couple of days. Yesterday was Aladdin Sane. :)

Sat AM on the way to the nature center.

Brilliant set again Steve. Mind if I make a couple of minor suggestions. One ht shot of the trolly you could probably strengthen the composition by losing some from the left hand side so that your eye follows the angle of the trolley into the RH side of the scene. Ideally at the time of shooting but it would still be a very strong picture if you even cropped out the pillars. What do you think? If you intensify the blacks in the window shot you will get a bit more detail of the tree I think which might be nice.

Hope you don't mind. These have had a slight increase in clarity as well and I added a gradient to the bottom of the trolley shot (and cropped 5x4).

Well that's better than what I took. I had just dropped off my recycling which is in a lovely part of town about 100 yards behind me in that picture. I had the 14mm lens on the camera and had to jump out of the car to take it. The dogs were with me (as usual)... So that's my excuse.

What is a gradient? I usually just adjust the exposure, highlights, and shadows. That's why I like the VSCO film program. It uses all those complicated controls below those three. I think that one is FUJI Superia 1600. Lately I like the really high ISO ones because of the grainy dirty look. It kind of covers up a a lot of my ineptitude. :D

I suppose I should get some kind of Adobe manual but I'm still trying to learn how to use the camera. Sometimes, it seems just a little overwhelming for a hobby.

Thanks so much for your help Pete!!!!!
I really mean that.

You are welcome Steve. Are you using Lightroom?

if so, under the histogram in the Develop module are some tools. The 4th from the left is the gradient tool. Click that and you can drag a gradient across the picture and then alter its properties with the sliders - for example by reducing the exposure. The click close to get you back to close it. You can go back and alter it later as necessary.

And thumbs up to Jesse Sykes - does she remind you of Marianne Faithful as well?

These are good Steve. The first made me wonder whether I applauded his tenacity or detested the parasitic nature of his business. Did you change your camera in the end? It seems as if you have approached these in a slightly different way than before, as if you are using a different camera.

THANKS again Pete.

I'm going to try it out later today. It's pouring raining. I'm about to throw the towel in, put on the rain suit and head out with the dogs. They are of course are sleeping on the couch. They did manage to make the 15 feet from the bed to the couch this AM.......:D

I have two CD's by her. I think I like that one better. This one is pretty good but it's little "rockier" if that make sense. I do really like the track Station Grey off this one.

Here's another for you. I downloaded this yesterday after reading a review of it. I really like that Danger Mouse/Daniel Luppi CD called Rome so I gave it shot. Gotta say I like it. :D

No these are with the X Pro 1. The first two are with the 14mm lens and the other with the 35mm. I haven't found a buyer yet. I have it and the X100S and the X20. So I'm sort of a Fuji guy I guess...at least until someone answers my Craig's List adverts. I live in a fairly small area so I'm advertising in the Austin area. I did have some call me yesterday about the X Pro while I was out with the dogs. I'm waiting for a call back.

Well...I always find attorney advertisements different. I don't have cable TV anymore, but when I did I always found the attorney TV ads...um...very different. :D
