Thanks Pete....yes it's an oak plinth, made from 25mm timber.

I acquired the deck as a bare chassis in a terrible neglected state...taken quite a while to get it operational to the degree I have...it's not out of the woods yet, but I like it....

This was the last "all metal" deck that Garrard made...plastic mass produced units after this...
