Institution

Another idea for a project while I was visiting the father-in-law at St Barts. While siting in the waiting room and generally just wondering about it occurred to me that when you look at some of the details various spaces of institutions have a similar look and feel. There are differences for sure but also many similarities as well.

I have only got as far as the hospital at the moment. I am trying to convince Kerri to ask the school where she works to let me in.

Interesting idea, Paul. I'm on something of a project trajectory myself (with "Bungalows") and a couple of other thoughts I've had recently. I think "Institutions" is a good one.

Could have been the hospital I was in this morning for an X-ray on my shoulder, which has been giving me some pain of late. I wish I'd brought my camera with me, but I could just pretend I took these shots (though mine would not be so well observed, I'm sure).

You are turning into a master of this type of shot, Paul, thinking of your rubbish and hotels rooms series'. I tried a couple of hotel room shots recently, but they were rubbish, and not your good kind of rubbish!

Thanks all. I had noticed that there had been more projects or continuing sets of images with a theme. I like the Bungalows set and the way that it developed. I've been a bit busy and not commented much recently but did have quick looks now and again. Rob, I think you are too hard on yourself. I have found that the people on here who tend to be modest I look at their photographs with some degree of awe. I am enjoying working on these various series, they seem to fit well with the way I approach photography. The images also mean more to me and I can engage with the image more.
