It's That Time Of Year Again

And I agree with the comment about SPP, it is nowhere near as bad as I expected and is a perfectly capable converter.

I have to agree. I am warming to it in a way that has surprised me and I suppose the fact that it is the only way to see the RAW files has been a causal factor in my appreciation of the programme.

I have just discovered PhotoNinja (on trial) and have exported several TIFF's to it. 'Well impressed', as my three year old, going on forty, grandson would say.

When one buys a gift for a loved (read feared) one it is always best to ensure that it functions correctly I think. I'm sure Pat is only being especially vigilant in this regard!

How true. I am that vigilant tester.

However, my beloved has coveted a Babylock overlocker ( a girly thing that converts expensive material into sewing scraps) for some time, and thanks to a particularly smooth operator, one David Drummond of The Haymarket Auld Reekie, she is now pre-occupied with triple stich wave thingymagibs.

The DP2 would have been gathering dust in her workroom so I have offered to keep it ticking over until such time as she gets bored with the sewing lark.

Kind or what?

Pat, I thought the Merrill was for your wife?!

Got an email from Clifton Cameras - my DP3M is in the post!

If you think that this below the belt comment will elicit a modicum of jealousy then you really do not know me.

Sadly it does.

( I think I will give Ffordes a ring later to see if their back orders are in. Unlike some, I believe in supporting the Scottish photography industry:rolleyes:)

Oh, that was below the belt too! I've used Ffordes' a few times. I didn't know they were selling the Merrills at the lower price.

It is where my beloved purchased the DP2. Their PX prices were excellent and Clifton were not interested in taking in any more used stock.

So, gently humming Rhu Vaternish, I ordered from them and contributed to Wee Eck's next expenses paid for, cary oot.

We Irishmen, living in Wales support our fellow Celts in Jockland. :D
