As most of you will now be aware I have been posting shots from my morning walks everyday for the past ??? Today I was about to set off as normal. Snow boots on, Sallies On, Coat, Hat and gloves. Cleo - Collar and lead and of course those 'bags'. I was just about to pick up the X10 when I thought Nah. (shake of head) I'm going to take the Nik out and try something different....I didn't want anything extreme, no HDR or over processed stuff but I did want something different so........here we are..

Top job mucker......I want out to shoot some film but the twats sent me 120 instead of the 35mm I ordered [devil]

Cheers Al, Then you'd best go buy a med format camera, go on you know you want to :D

[marquee] Buy Medium Format, Buy Medium Format, Buy Medium Format, Buy Medium Format!![/marquee]

Large format is where its at :D

Have you tried to defish these at all? They do look awesome as they are though :D

Thanks All, no David haven't and won't for me it's all about the distortion and using it to hopefully frame the overall image and to add something else in a more artistic way, and not about using it to get more in view. I usually use this lens for Pano work then things get played with, but for this sort of stuff I like as is....:)

To be honest when I think of a fisheye lens I always think of a massivly distorted image with a completly round image, I like the fact that your images do have distortion but not to the point where you wonder what was actually taken lol I like them :) I like the last one the most as much like shooting a lens wide open the subject you have at the centre of the image is sharp whereas everything else is distorted - in this case optically distorted rather than out of focus.

Thank David, I'm pretty much drawn to closeup with the FE for that reason too, using it wide open albeit only 2.8 it still gives a combination of the distortion and some DoF too.. I had planned on using it only for closeup stuff tomorrow, we'll see waht the weather hold up, it's either that or the Lensbaby comes out to play..:)
