I've got serious G.A.S ( I won my 1st e-Bay auction, YAY).

For a long time I've had a hankering to get me a 16mm cine camera, I missed out on a Bolex H16 EBM it was being sold as 'for parts or not working' by 2 quid it sold for £92, only because I didn't have the balls and the adrenaline rush was to much.
So today whilst perusing eBay I came across a Cine Kodak Special, fairly good nick, so when I put it in my watch list it was at £21, this after noon it went to £33, then I thought it going to go for a song at a price I couldn't afford, so I'd keep watching anyway to see what it would go for, the ending time got closer and closer still no one else was bidding on it, so at about 15s before it finished I put my max bid in expecting to get bounced out, when I'd confirmed my bid, bidding had ended and for the first time ever I had won an eBay auction. The adrenaline rush is still subsiding, provided I don't end up getting a couple of bricks delivered to work next week I'll be chuffed to bits.

Here's a picture I pulled from the sale.

Interesting (read: expensive) times are coming I can see.

Any who.
Cheers for now.

Nice!

16mm, gorgeous stuff Rich - sounds like a bargain as well

You going to write something up for us when you get it?

Well it finally arrived and I don't know what was worse, waiting for the auction to end or waiting for it to arrive. First impressions even before I opened the the package were, how the hell am I going to get this home on the bike tonight because it was rather weighty.
When I managed to get it home and gave it the once over it all looks fine, apart from a thorough clean and light oiling which is in its future. I am so looking forward to running some film through it, and in the fullness of time I'll do a write up as well.

Rich.
