I've started a blog

As if I didn't have enough going on... I barely have time to stop by here these days!

Anyway, it's a blog about... wait for it... architectural photography! Big surprise, eh? Anyway, it's actually about modernist architecture and I use my own photos, for the most part, and ramble on about whatever strikes my fancy. I know I'm really selling it, eh?

Modernist Architecture

Please stop by for a look if you have a chance!

Cheers!

Would never have pegged that as your blog topic Darren! :D

Will pop-by and take a peek

Fantastic Darren - someone's going to sign you up, it's just so pro

I'll have a proper read when I get to work, but looks good!
you should switch to Wordpress before you get in to deep though ... It's a much better platform and much more more likely to get visits/found on search engines ime ... Have a look at my blog 35mmc.com - I launched it on may 21st and have had over 1000 visits, over 600 unique, over 250 as a result from searches on google. Wordpress is by far the best tool for blogging!

Thanks for the tip, Hamish. I was led to believe that Wordpress was very complicated and hard to master. Is that not the case, then? I'm honestly not that literate at HTML and wanted something simple. I also wanted something I could update quickly, as I never seem to have the time. I've even created posts from my iphone on Blogger, so it seemed to fit the bill in that regard. Just to compare, by the way, I also started my blog on 31st of May and have received 1,200 views so far. It was slow at first but it's up to about 50 - 60 per day now on average. About a third are from Google and another 10% from other search engines. The rest are referrals from other sites, mostly.

You have a lot more experience than I do at this sort of thing, so I'd welcome your critique and suggestions, Hamish. Thanks!

Oh, and thank you, Rob! Didn't see your response earlier. Glad you enjoyed the visit! Cheers!

It is a very informative blog , and full of excellent photos to help illustrating the points. I have learned new stuff from reading it, thanks Darren!

Excellent stuff, Darren. I saw your blog yesterday. Your photos are fantastic as usual and I enjoyed the Bill Krisel info. Well done!

You are doing well then!

Wordpress is not hard at all, my blog has probably three additional lines of custom css ... the rest is from a free template
Oxygen Theme — WordPress Themes for Blogs at WordPress.com
then just plugins for social media bits and contact forms and such like ...

A bit of common sense is all is needed eg search google for "best contact form wordpress" or "anti spam wordpress" etc ... you get there pretty quickly!

Beautifully done, Darren. The photo of William Krisel-designed home in San Diego is a gem.
