I enabled the 'purchase image' option in my 500px site, which allows viewers to purchase either a digital download - for which I get $2 - or purchase a high-quality canvas print, with prices dependent on size chosen - for which I get 70%.

Well, within ten minutes I'd made $2!

That might be the only money I ever make, but I'm very pleased with it! I have placed it in my Fuji lens fund!

Not all the photos are eligible for purchase, as they were cropped by me before upload, and don't meet the minimum size. That's something I'll have to think about for future uploads...

Thanks, all. The girl who bought it emailed to say she sent the download version to SnapFish to get a really cheap print. Whatever. I'm just so pleased someone was willing to spend two dollars, while all the while knowing she could download it for free. Respect.
