I was fortunate enough late last year to photograph this awesome looking critter.

I used a borrowed Nikon D7000 with Nikon 300mm F4 and x1.4 as my full frame D700 doesn't have the reach.

More great Bird shots Dave, keep 'em coming:).
I spent six hours in a hide a few weeks ago waiting for Kingfishers but they didn't want to come close for me:(.

Lovely Kingfisher shots!

I've also been trying to capture a Kingfisher local to me. There's even a permanent hide set up, but I don't seem to have the patience to get the shot. Not sure my 200mm lens is long enough either, as the couple of times he's been there he's been just to far away. I'll keep trying though.

now there stunning.............. the second one seems a little darker than the other 2, but there all still brilliant, even more so the last one with fish.............!!

Did i mention these are brilliant.......lol

how long did you sit & wait for these then ?

The almost metallic colors are wonderful - and that pose with the fish!

Love the OOF backdrop in #1 - that color really makes the bird stand out

Cracking photos Dave #3 is my fav with the fish in mid juggle great timing :)
