Knockhill circuit...

My first attempt this year at 'panning' at Knockhill race circuit using my Canon 5D Mk1 and a basic 28-105mm f/3.5, a little too short length wise.

I personally enjoy the different bands of colour.

That's excellent dude!
I tried some panning not so long back... And it is difficult to get it right . Fair play.
Looks very good :)

Thanks Dan,

My top tip is to shoot many shots to get a good half dozen or so, think I shot a few hundred during my first attempt, does no harm as you delete the blurry/crap ones etc...

It's fantastic watching the pro's close to you shooting with the likes of long/fast/expensive lenses, spoke to a lovely/helpful pro chap who had two top notch Canon EOS 1 MkIV bodies and two huge fast f/2.8 lenses. Just a shade under 20k for his kit, wOw!

Nice done! What shutter speed did you end up using?

Love Knockhill - when it's not raining ;)

At least you can get relatively close there, and the fencing is low enough to shoot over. 300mm is a good lens length for that circuit - you can get some killer shots with a 300.

That corner at the end of the start/finish straight is nuts - cars flipping onto two wheels etc etc

I'll try and find a shot...

Great shot!

Peter - loving the composition on the reworked version - looks fantastic

Ive not been to any of the bike meetings there in ages. Last visit was for the last banger race of the year. Dont think i posted any picks of it tho

Hi Garry,

Thanks for your kind words.

Cork is a beautiful place, I've family just outside Blarney, close to a tiny village called Tower. Have you been in Giles Norman's art shop in Kinsale? A lovely guy who's devoted to black & white photography.

Thanks.

Just spotted this now. I've often been in Tower and I've been in Giles' shop. He uses one camera, some kind of Nikon, one lens, a 35-135 zoom, one film and one developer. An example to all of us! I've not spoken to him but his photos are popular presents.

Ive been looking at the calendar for the season Peter so will try get thru a few times myself this year
