Critique Welcomed Lake Reflections

Lesley Jones

Otherwise know as Zooey
This was one I took on our neighbour's land on Saturday. The lake was well hidden and I hadn't come across it before. The place was magical, but I could have kicked myself for taking the tripod and forgetting the cable release. Never mind - I couldn't really get close enough with that, so balancing precariously over the water, I hand held this at around 1/40th I think. My eyes are playing up and I should be in bed, but I won't have time to tinker tomorrow and I really would appreciate your thoughts. I'm tempted to lift the mid tones a tad, but then the shadows (which aren't blocked), start to look too heavy by comparison. I probably need to live with it for a bit...

For information, some of the colour was actually toned down.

I think you got the composition just right Lesley. That circular light area helps my eyes explore the entire frame.

Many thanks to you both. Between us Pete, we might just have a fully functioning pair of eyes! Mine have started getting very blurry at the end of the day. The mid tones were a tad below 1, then I put them back and by 11.00 last night I was beyond making a decision. I'm going to check out those Nik effects tonight and if I have time I will have a final tinker with this :)
