Critique Welcomed Lamp On The Pier

Shot this from the an upstairs window of Ruby's, a diner at the end of the Huntington Beach Pier (Picture of Ruby's is below, too.)

The view is looking south toward Newport Beach.

A strange development in the relationship between Lr and Ps inside my computer. When I open a picture from Lr in Ps for editing, then go back to Lr again, the picture opens back up all purple and heavily vignetted. Don't know why. That's what happened here, but I toned the purple back in Lr.

I took this shot (and the second one) at about 8am, using my new favorite camera, the Olympus OM-2N with Zuiko 50/1.8 and Kodak BW400CN film.

Below is Ruby's. The lamp featured in the image above is the one on the far left of the picture below. Both images were shot within 10 minutes of each other.

A super pair of shots Brian and I really like the symmetry in the second.

When you open the file in PS do you 'Edit a Copy with LR adjustments'? If you open the original and the colour space is different or you have made a white balance adjustment that might account for the purple cast (which I guess is the colour from the scanner if it was a colour scan of a B&W negative).

No wonder it's your favourite camera - those a really good shots, and beautifully exposed.
Thanks very much, Rob. I left the exposure up to the camera, really. (It's aperture-priority. Can't recall what size hole I selected for these images but the camera did the rest. I have found that even with a wide aperture in bright daylight (selected to maximize OOF in car shots) the camera can handle it. But I really should get a couple of ND filters. Thanks again, Rob!

Thanks, Pete.

Yes, I do "Edit a Copy with LR adjustments". I'll check for what you mentioned. Thanks, Pete! :)
