I found this fella lurkin' behind some stuff when I was cleaning up the other day. It's had a bit of a hard time and seems to have fallen victim to a fungus too, hopefully post-mortem. Anyway, I thought I'd immortalise it as a test of full (or rather nearly full) magnification on the M420. As you will see from the setup shot I have mounted one of my micrometer stages to the base and arranged the lighting to provide partial dark field illumination and to aid positioning: the asecond angular might has a polariser on it to help reduce unwanted reflections This is a 9 image stack and has been further processed in PS to remove some edge artefacts from the stacking process (as you will no doubt point out, Brian, a consequence of the slight axial mis-alignment 
) and also to render it in toned B&W via Nik ColorEFEX and Nik Silver EFEX.
