I have been recycling funds after a clear out and bought my first item from Leitz, a 90mm f4Elmar to use on the Canon 7, another purchase. I have never even handled anything Leitz upto now which has made it clear why they are held in such high regard. I have yet to try it out but it seems to sit nicely on the Canon and focus is spot on.
It has had its first outing now at the local Farmers' Market and I am more than satisfied. The Canon seems to have got over its shutter hesitancy too. Very noticeable is in post. My normal sharpening method is to apply several USMs at very low settings (0.3px/0.9 factor/0 threshold if you are familiar with Affinity). It usually takes three or four applications. In these cases it has needed only one, or occasionally two! This is using all the same development and post which I almost do in my sleep. I am sold on the Leitz optics even more so and may look to get some more. The Canon stays though - I could never get used to the screw Leica film loading or the tiny finders.
