I Finally Tried DPP4

Ages ago I downloaded DPP4, Canon’s own RAW processor, to process files from my Canon R6. And I never did open the disk image and try the app. Until today.

Today I used DPP4 to process this image and then I used Photoshop to process the same file, so I can compare them.

I am not expecting to see a big difference. The image processed in DPP4 is the first one here above and it looks a bit more neutral than the Photoshop version below.

For interest, I shot with the 35mm Canon lens at ISO 200, 1/160th second, and f5.

Roll on Spring and Summer.

Nice photo. To me the blues look a tad more saturated in the DPP4 version. And the lens distortion correction is different (or missing at all in DDP4?)

Subtle is the word. The most noticeable to me is the shadow detail is very slightly better in the PS version but only what you would get from a nudge on the black point.
