Lincolnshire Seascapes...

Have been absent for a few months due to moving house and relocating to a more rural location still in Lincolnshire but as a result of that I have come up with some new images that are not black and white. As is usual for me there are taken on either a 20mm lens or a 14mm lens.

Fine shots, Shaun. Good to see you back and contributing. Strong colours add drama. Good stuff. But I'm really curious about how they would look in black and white...

Well, I have done some conversions and to be honest, they looked dreadful. There is very little difference in tone between the sky and the foreground so the whole thing is just grey. I may try some different combinations of levels etc. Something may work out.

Ok, back to monochrome then I guess. Taken today, Monday 11th June 2018 I intended not to overdo the black sky thing but now wish I had gone for dense black. Live and learn. For me these are not of high enough contrast. Oh yes, Lincolnshire coast again close to where I live.

Now, that's closer to my taste, at least. Great stuff. Big, interesting skies, and our small lives below. B&W brings that out better, I think.

Welcome back Shaun. Two great sets of images, you really know how to capture the beauty of the seashore. The 4th colour one and the first b&w are my favourites.
