Low Light, Low Life

As promised to Dan, this was shot on HP5 (pushed either to 1600 ISO or 3200 ISO - I can't recall and the sheet of negatives is in the UK) and then printed onto Ilford MGIV at 16" x 12". It is scanned from a foam mounted print that was used for a small 'exhibition' related to a scientific working group a few years ago at MMU (this was shot about 10 years ago in a bar in Potsdam).

Either a Nikon F3 or a Nikon FE was used and probably a 135mm f1:3.5 Nikkor Q non-ai lens (ai converted and still a great favourite of mine on a D3 as well as film Nikons). Scanned using a Microtek ScanMaker 1000XL A3 scanner. Tiny spot of clarity applied in LR4 and then exported as is.

Lovely atmospheric shot here, Pete. I love the grain. Did you have the camera resting on a table? No,...maybe not. It looks to be a little higher. Hand held, Pete?

Loving the way the light catches the faces on the right, and the guy's face at the table - it makes the connection of that little group.

Wow! Thanks pete! That's such a great atmosphere! And I'm LOVING the über grain!! Very nice touch!
Might have to get me some of that in 35mm... Or can I?
