Some digital shots of a local to me airbase that flies a variety of historical aircrafts. I also have a few rolls of medium format to develop, which includes shots of their C-47 and the museum section - which is small but has some neat stuff and displays. I try and visit a few times a year, it is donation and volunteer supported.

The airport they are based at (Falcon Field) is fairly busy, and has large citrus groves across the street.

The "star of the show" is their B17. I have flown on this one, a few years ago. I have also flown in their B-25, C-47, and SNJ.

Did 17's ever fly in a polished aluminum dress?

I saw the Memphis Belle up close years ago in Memphis when my company jet enroute to Cookeville, TN couldn't land due to weather.

Yes, late '43 the army and navy stopped painting their aircraft more or less, so from that point on many were flown in their factory "buffed" finish. Saved a ton of time and effort to not paint them.
