Waterfall at Lumsdale by Steve Dormer

This image was taken at Lumsdale in Derbyshire UK. A magnificent place for a variety of small waterfalls and old buildings in various states of decay.

Well done, Steve. Good to see you developing your own style. Kind of HDR, but not quite, which is an interesting place to hang out.

That's really Steve,
I wish I knew about this place before I went up to the peaks.
There's a secret waterfall in the peaks called The Swallet. That's also lovely if you get the chance :)

Thanks Dan I will check out The Swallet just love waterfalls.

Love a nice wide crop myself - and the detail and tones make for a super B&W image Steve

Was this a long exposure with ND filter?

Hi Chris

Thanks for the comments.

It was a long exposure of about 30 minutes. It was very dark down there and I wanted to get a maximum depth of field. I also used a low ISO and on reflection may have used a higher ISO to reduce exposure time.

Thanks Rob
It is interesting in the way it is processed because there is no direct HDR involved. Thanks for the feedback always appreciated
