Thanks for looking.

Very nice set as always Jim. And there's nothing wrong with a postcard shot, especially one as good as this! I think the bicycles is my favourite though. Very nicely timed and framed. The young girl look at the camera behind the stand is a super shot also as is the man 'double-taking' the wine.

Nicely done Jim - Loving the cool couple shot - that could be a shot for a cool fashion mag or a clothing company - love the way the couple are in step, but looking in different directions.

I think the street stuff really works in B&W :)

Spotted you in Angel 2 - nice self portrait! ;)

Excellent street stuff, Jim. Love the guy on the bike going through the plaza. Also the Uncooperative Kid. Also the Cool Couple. Really I like all of them a lot. The two with the wee lassies are very special, also.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I wanted to vary from my usual travel photography, and concentrate on street in this trip. So I left the 5D2, filters and tripod at home and only brought X100 + gorilla pod. On street, I often used the hyperfocal focusing, shutter speed of 1/125 or 1/250 and auto-ISO (the point of all these is to minimise shutter-lag).

Having examining the pictures on computer, although they don't have the same level of crispness and sharpness of 5D2+Zeiss, they do look nice enough for my purpose. I do appreciate the reduced load and the little camera made me look a little less conspicuous (clearly a fail in Angel 2 :D). Again, they are just different tools to produce different results. :)

Interesting settings Jim - I've read elsewhere that street shooters often use 1/250 to ensure they get crisp shots of moving people.

Auto ISO is a blessing in these situations - with so much potential for variation in illumination levels as you move around.

Only used it for the first time on Sunday, and I was impressed with the results - so will be using it again.
