Hi all,
The first of my M42 to F mount adaptors has arrived, this is the one with the corrective glass to focus to infinity, I also have another adaptor coming without the corrective glass. The item itself is pretty well made and has the description added to it.
The plan is to run the manual M42 lenses on my D3100 so that I can practice without film ie set the D3100 to a set ISO mimicing the film and then practice shooting certain scenes at different settings so I can see if I am giving the correct exposure.
Here is the adaptor:
Adaptor fitted onto the lens - its actually easier to fit the adaptor onto the body and then screw the lens in due to the way the F mount bayonet fitting works - can be hard to remove the lens and adaptor as the lens starts to unscrew after to unlock the assemly from the body.
My Fujica 55mm F2.2 lens fitted - due to the crop factor on the D3100 this works out to be a 82.5mm lens
The good news is that I can now use the M42 Fujica lens on my Nikon EM so I now have a 55mm prime lens (I also have a 44mm F2 Helios lens as well that I can now use).
Here are some very very first test photos - shot on full manual with the Fujica lens - probably not the best to look at due to user error lol - 2 different shutter speeds, same aperture
Edit - just found that the Helios 44-2 focus fouls on the stop for the glass, so I will have to use the other non corrected adaptor for that lens, just means I won't be able to do infinity focuses with the Helios 44-2 lens but my 55mm Fujica lens works fine I can always use the 2X tele adaptor which will give me a 132mm equivalent for the Helios if needed
