Don't know the cameras at all Steve but they have a good reputation and the other Mamiya lenses are superb.

AWESOME!! Thanks Pete!!!!!! I think I am going to like 6 X 4.5 better than the Kiev. Unfortunately in class we are printing at 7.5 x 9.5 and the Kiev really messing me up with my framing. I really want to get the 45mm and 55mm since those are basically 28mm and 35mm equivalents. I lost out on a bid on a 45mm earlier today.

I've not used the 55mm WA but I have a 45mm f2.8 and it's a superb lens. I rarely use my 1000S these days, it needs a service as it wasn't fixed properly by the UK importer Johnsons Photopia - avoid them if you can. I've had problems twice now with their service department, the first time was a lens repair Tamron which came back flaring badly (it hadn't before).
The Mamiya 645's are great cameras to use so have fun.
