Disclaimer: Not my photo.

I've always loved this photo. It was taken by my mother using an Olympus XA2 that I had given to my parents. She was quite artistic and loved to take photos, although I think that had as much to do with documenting their life as it did a love of art. This shot is of my grandson and my grand-nephew. I scanned the print (haven't found the neg yet) and converted it to b&w. I'm posting it to show that I come to a love of photography naturally.

A great memory, John. What a treat this image will be for those two young men in the future.
I'm sure they will look on this picture fondly in the future. That's the main reason I'm scanning in our family photos, for the younger and future generations. It's so easy for photos to end up in the trash when someone moves. Those photos are lost forever. I'm going to spread the digital copies of the old photos as widely as possible.

Agreed. Excellent photo. Love the train on the window ledge. I'd play with that now!
You can't have it. :) My father made that train. The red barn toy box was also one of his creations. He loved working in wood and passed that love on to his sons and grandsons.

I love images like those and the story that go with it. It surely proves that photography is a very valuable instrument and more valuable like this then many other genres..
