I’m not entirely sure about the street sign, but the shadows are certainly intriguing. Wishing you — and all of you — a wonderful New Year. May 2026 be filled with remarkable and comforting photographs.

I’m not entirely sure about the street sign,

Afterwards I thought maybe I should have added another photo for context. The mailbox is just a large, rectangular box on a pedestal and the street sign is one that has two signs at right angles on a pole. It is to my rear and its shadow just happens to be almost touching the edge of the mailbox shadow.

As if I had any control over that...
...I suppose I could have taken it out but that would be the extent of my control.

I went out to get the mail and the sun was at an interesting angle.

I meant it is a most effective part of the image, leading the eye to the main component.
