[Rense Haveman]

Still busy with the Single in Challenge, back on Pentaxforums.com, and still dedicating some time on still lifes. Messing around this morning with a vase and an apple and a dead inflorescence of a Hydrangea. Can't decide which one I like best, and probably it is not necessary to....

I think I prefer the first, as after seeing the apple, it looks missing from the second. Dead space. Hmm. I really like them overall, but find the reflections on the vase to be too clear, too interesting, to a point where they keep demanding my eye's attention when it should be elsewhere. I like vase reflections in Dutch flower painting, but it's never quite clear what is being reflected, and I like that.

But I do like your present still life work.

I don't know about messing around, these are super, Rense. I love the counterpoint between the fresh apple and the dried flower very much but like the tones of the next even more. The crop is missing something for me though.
