MEVAGISSEY

Three great images showing the incredible power od the sea...nicely done Julian.

Three beauts, Julian. The light is lovely in 'em all.
thank you Brian, A little enhanced ;) Wont be able to do that with my new Mamiya I suspect, so will have to concentrate to get it right first off. Got some batteries through the post Saturday and it is fully working like a treat. Might slip into the local college shop and get some film if they dont ask for my student card :rolleyes:. Thought about Kodak Ektar for colour, not decided on B+W as yet. Chose to get some colour so I can get the first roll done quickly at my local camera shop to see if the exposures are ok. The shop for B+W chemicals is a bit of a way to go, so need to combine that with another trip. No soda available locally like in the usa for caffinol.

Thank you Doug appreciated.
One thing I cannot understand is with all these windmills going up, why much more is not invested in the sea for power. It is reliable and the tides are predictable, somewhere on the coast it is always either ebbing or flooding, by far more energy than the wind, as the flow of water being constant and twenty four hours over large enough area. waves are more akin to wind though in their usability . Yep the sea has immense power and energy created by the sun and moon.

Just seen these, Julian. Very beautiful. No wonder you felt invigorated - the weather is awe-inspiring. I love the deep blues here.

Thanks Rob, yes that kind of weather that's chilly fresh but you dont get cold, windy and blowy yet comfortable. All in all a very good hour or so.

Can't go wrong with Ektar, Julian. Many people dislike what it does with skin tones, but its my favorite color film.

Wonderful set Julian and the way you have brought out the foam on the waves and the buildings really evokes a strong sense of time and place I think. I especially like the first and the way the lighthouse balances the drama of the wave.
Thank you Pete. It is odd though I find the angle of view, how the harbour sticks out is at odds to how it is. Yet however many times I photograph from that angle, whatever camera or lens the oddness is there. It maybe something i only see, knowing the place so well, that I dont know. It isas if I'd have to tilt the horizon to get the pier correct, but then that would not do would it ;

A beautiful day. I felt so invigorated after being out photographing for an hour, the images obtained felt inconsequential, but maybe they are to remind me of feeling that way.

And of how colourful one's own place can be if you just look at it with different eyes and in a different light, right mate? Honestly a lovely light in this series which you have done marvelously well. I love them all. Makes me want to go back.

Thank you Ivar, the winter months here are beautiful on bright colourful days, we can travel and get around at leisure without to much hindrance but also welcome all incoming people, especially Norsemen. Yes it is indeed colourful, in more ways than one ;)
