MEVAGISSEY

I do like these shaky shots that you do, Julian. Very effective and I like the way you start to make things out the longer you look.
Thanks Pete. ICM intentional camera movement is in vogue, a quick and easy way to an expressionist view of things. The E-M5 has a good trick, like the bulb setting it has an extra setting which is 'livetime' you press the shutter release and have say iso 100, f9 , 5sec using a 10 stop ND filter to enable those settings, you can see the image appearing on the lcd, you then stop the exposure by pressing the shutter release when you desire. Quite a nice way to use a camera.I'd have thought it would also be good for night time photography for the milky way and the such. Wanted to try this this year but as now the skies have not been clear at night.

I take it there's a fine pub there and you've just exited? :)

Never been to Mevagissey - and we're in St Ives end of October so you never know! :)

There are several fine pubs in Meva, but no, I no longer frequent apart from the odd coffee. Got out the habit of drinking when bringing up the children and soon realised I prefer the world sober and why listen to stories from drunks who talk a load of tripe unless you join in of course, which then makes me wonder if you cannot say what you mean sober dont say it at all.
Having said that I'd recommend the Sloop in St.Ives , you probably know it, a nice snug bar or sit out in the road by the beach. Hope the weather picks up for you then Dave, it's pretty poor here at the moment, but at least the water is at it's warmest in October here so you'll have a nice swim.
Maybe give me a call when you are down.

I know The Sloop very well.

And you know - there is a grey area between sober and drunk that is quite acceptable at times. I drink alcohol quite often - but can't remember the last time I was drunk o_O

It'd be nice to met up for a pint - of coffee :)

Yes give me a shout here nearer the time and I'll see if I am around.

Julian was strapped to the mast at the time! ;)
Curiously enough I'd just had a conversation with a good friend, and skipper of a trawler, prior to this photo, about being tied to the mast for a trip out to take photo's, the reference was the guy with no legs in Forest Gump and their shrimp fishing boat, he was strapped to the mast to see the shoals of shrimps. Be a good view but quite swayeeeee if the weather worsened.

I watched Mr Turner last night which was why it was in my mind. It's all for art after all! ;)
Ah, my youngest got me the DVD , I was kind of disappointed with the movie.. It could have been, if youve read enough about someone a movie will seldom be as interesting. It did feel low budget and may well have been so, a five out of ten for me..
