X-Pro1 and 14mm Lens at f/2.8 - 30 Sec Exposure

Bit of an experiment this evening - I want to have a proper go at this out in the desert, away from the light pollution - but I figured I'd get the settings dialed in closer to home first.

Lens set to infinity focus (manual) - 30 sec timed exposure on 6400 ASA - Camera mounted on tripod with self timer for shutter release.

Beautifully done. Definitely away from the light pollution.

Very good, Chris. I have a friend who is a retired astronomer, who is now thinking about astro photography after making his own telescope. I'll let him know what you are doing. I believe most astro photographers make multiple shots, and put them together in Photoshop, making adjustments. Looking forward to more...

The clouds dispersed, so I took a couple - deciding there and then to abandon any thoughts of getting into astro photography: too bloody cold!
