Moon shot

I find looking at the moon relaxing. I used to have a 4-1/2" refractor telescope that produced nice contrasty images and would look at the moon through it for ages. Looking at your photo makes me want to go and lay in the garden and stare skywards. However its cloudy tonight so not much point.

I am led to believe that is you shoot in manual at 125th f5.6 the moon will come out right, that is with anything above 300mm......the sky will then be a lovely black. If you try to shoot LE then the Moon will burn out.......Can't remember where i read it but it is correct........still go tripod though :)

It really is suprising how fast the moon moves.
I tried a moon shot not so long ago. set up the tripod, settings etc, and then I was rudely interrupted by a cloud.
So, I left my setup (in the garden of course) and went inside to make a brew..... cloud had cleared after about 5 .... well, as long as it takes to make a brew really.
looked on the live view mode and it had gone completely out of the frame!!! lol
that thing moves quick! :) :)
great shot Dave. :)

What ISO Kev

There is a grey day rule (obviously based on the sunny 16) that I learned actually before I knew about sunny 16 that says
Grey day 5.6 1/125th iso400

I wonder if it's related?

Were you here when we were talking about the sunny 16 rule still applying on the moon?
