Exactly what I was thinking and you've spoiled my chance to suggest that the spider was surely from Mars!

They must have such fun putting those displays together: Water Babies and Trout Fishing! And I love those old sic-fi mags. I have some knocking around somewhere that I bought in my teens (secondhand I hasten to add!).

We saw some more old sci-fi mags in another shop recently, though at £25 each we left empty-handed.
