More boring dog photos

Sorry, but it's all I got. It's been busy at work lately. I did do some photography today at a Thanksgiving day lunch I worked for the homeless. We are off work until Monday. The local news photographer just kept taking the same photo over and over again at the serving line. I was serving drinks and with these two ladies from the United Way and Salvation Army. When they asked for a copy of what he was taking he kind made a big stink about it. I told them I had my camera in the car. The United Way lady liked what she saw and has asked me to do some portraits for this ad campaign they are doing. I was kind floored. I told it would probably be better if there were dogs involved. There's nothing boring about your dog images, Steve. Indeed, I believe you have pretty much mastered the art of dog portraiture!

It's a dogs life ;) The Doggies look like the Fonz
Cool news about photographing for ad campaign in the homeless place. I wish we had thanksgiving in blighty.

Love the first two of this series Steve - not boring at all. And great news about the portraits etc. The right balance and a friendly attitude always pays dividends I think. :)

I think it was because when she showed me a picture of her dog on her Iphone I said he was "cute." :) It's an interesting theme about diversity. The first photo was with a young ex gang member and an 80 year old retired military guy. The next one is going to be some very tattooed young man and an elderly woman. They are shooting them outdoors. If they had been indoors I would have said no because I have absolutely no idea how to use a flash. I'm heading downtown now to find a suitably grungy location. She wanted a non pristine brick wall as a backdrop or something very urban. The dogs should enjoy this. It's definitely a change of pace. I just hope there isn't a bunch of food on the ground..........

The news guy was kind of jerky. Plus he just sat there with his 24-70 and took the same photo over and over for 30 minutes. It was really more about the people serving than the people who needed help. Some of these people are really heartbreaking. It's amazing how many young children are homeless. Boy it really puts things in perspective. I don't have much but compared to the people I was working with yesterday, I'm royalty. I went through my closets this AM and got out all the clothes I'm not wearing. I'm taking them to the Salvation Army tomorrow.

On a side note our esteemed Mayor showed up about 10 minutes before we were done. He butted his way in the serving line and made sure the local TV news anchor got some footage of him. We all had badges that just said "volunteer." His said "Mayor Tom."
