Critique Welcomed More Christmas Cheer

Obviously the Fujinon 60mm has me infused with Christmas spirit ( I have never made images of Christmas decorations before, believe it or not). X-E2, 60mm, tripod & MF (it's hard to stop laughing using AF at these ranges ... s l o w). The first one had a touch of manual flash (Nikon SB-900 with PW's) with a grid spot. The wife would use the nutcracker on me  if I actually lit the gingerbread man candle for a photo.

Thanks, Pete. The Fuji AWB is quite remarkable - I have had to do no WB correction in spite of mixed lighting indoors. Granted most of my indoor lighting is LED now, not CFL or incandescent, but still ... My D800 AWB is pitiful in comparison.

That last gingerbread man ornament always makes me think of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters for some reason (and my wife has several on the tree) :)

I hadn't made the link but now I can't get the association out of my head!

Glad to be of service :D
I've only used the D800 for technical stuff under controlled conditions so have no feel for its WB but that is an interesting comment. Thanks.

It's not just the D800 - every Nikon or Canon DSLR I've used has terrible AWB compared to your average P&S in my experience (!) I swear even my iPhone has better AWB. My Olympus E-M5 AWB is better than the Nikons but not as good as the Fuji. Why they feel it necessary to put a bunch of program modes on a professional DSLR body but can't be bothered to get the WB to work well is an eternal mystery.

Your pictures make me feel hungry for gingerbread Keith, nicely done

Thanks, guys.
