With the fun that Peter was having with his Helios 44-2 I thought I would get my 44-2 from the armoured Zenit photosniper case and attach it to my D3100.

Decided to shoot wide open to see what the image was like, I had done this before, however just as a test to check to see if it would mount ok on the D3100 before I ever knew about light room lol.

All shots are hand held at ISO 200, 1/20s @ f2

Some fruit based fun

Flowery fun:

B&W version

Nice set I like the bananas, I sometimes resort to the fruit bowl on wet days.

Thanks, yeah it was just a case of....need to go use the Helios now, hmmm fruit bowl will do :D

Decided to shoot some more with this lens, its actually really really nice, amazingly fluid aperture ring, this time I shot it on a cheap tripod @ ISO 100 to get the best quality I could, I also used the live view the same as the ground glass and checked for focus.

Pineapple again:

Orchid again with some additional post process:

I did something different with these next shots - unfortunatly due to the crop factor of the D3100 the Helios was slightly harder to get the same size in the frame.

Here is the hourglass with the standard kit lens (again low ISO and tripod), 18-55mm:

Here is the Helios:

Edit: Photobucket is now RUBBISH after they changed everything, nothings loading properly, will go sign up to Flickr I think.
