Morning Series

Took the DP0Quattro out for an early-morning walk to Princess Street. Lots of great shadows from the low sun. In-camera b&w blue filter, and 21:9 format. Best seen when clicked.

1. Cobbles. They look lovely, but are not cycle-friendly. This shot, and some of the others, reminds me of the images of Prague by Josef Sudek.

2. The Great Divide, with the Kirk at the centre, or so it would like to be. Some foreground cropped out.

3. Stickman Goes Forth!

4. Princes Street, with new overhead wires for the trams:

5. A Pretty View:

6. Don't Walk!

7. Dean Bridge. The first shot of the day, walking into town:

Now there's a fine set, Rob. It's nice when a deliberate outing produces the goods, isn't it? I especially like 1, 3 and 4. The shadows and gleam in the first is superb and I like the composition very much. I love the way stickman divides the frame and anchors the composition - superb. And I really like the way the road is busy one way but the other, not. And the way the tram-line-supports divide the frame works very well I think.

Thanks, Pete. Glad you like em. The first, I'm very pleased with.
As you should be. That first one is excellent. I also really like 4 and 5. The "Pretty View" is certainly well-titled. It looks like a great spot for a picnic or to just sit and relax on a nice day.

Thanks, John. It would be a nice place to sit and have a picnic, were it not for the roaring traffic along Princes Street right behind me.

Four and five for me, especially and also because I remember they used to dig the grounds in that Princess street when I was there last. I have normally difficulties seeing in the dark, otherwise a fine series Rob.
