MPP Mark VII Type B Micro Technical Camera

I can stop any time I like. I can resist buying cameras!!

Well today I had to go to SDS to take him an old Devere 507 chassis, some old Agfa processors and some other bits that I hope he can sell following our clear out at work. I was also buying some bits but I made the mistake of looking around his office in his new (and very nice) premises when I saw it. Sitting on a shelf looking unloved and screaming, "Open me up!". And so I did. And all was lost and so I now have a wonderful MPP Mk VII 5x4 portable technical camera. It was made in about 1960 and has a Schneider 150mm lens mounted that was made in 1961 (it is possible that the camera was also made then but the serial number suggests it's a bit earlier).

In some ways this is similar to the Speed Graphic except it has many more movements but only has a shutter in the lens. So here it is (as yet uncleaned but all working as it should). The back can also be rotated and tilted / shifted a bit.

There is also some movement possible on the rear 'standard'.

And the rotating back.

I also picked up a few more boxes of film while I was at SDS so, hopefully, this weekend...

All images shot on a Ricoh GR Digital III (in raw this time), PP as before.

Ooooooo, more vintage camera porn :)

I assume it is Hamish. It has a Graflock back and so there are a number of options. I'll probably only use it with 5x4 though. I'm hoping to pop a couple of sheets through this and the Speed Graphic at the weekend (work allowing!).

Now if you bought a Speed Graphic and the accompanying flash gun, that would make an impressive 'in your face' camera!! ;)
