Mt. Baker, Late Afternoon

Mt. Baker stands just under 11,000 feet and is a prominent feature in the skyline where I live. According to Wikipedia, it's "the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount St. Helens."

I was hoping to capture the "alpenglow" off the mountain so most of my images from this shoot were in landscape orientation. Then I spotted the contrail. I'm a sucker for contrails.

Canon 5DSR with Canon 24-105L lens.

My all time favourite mountain. Especially seen from Old Langley road.B.C. where mount Baker majestically shows up at the end of the road in all its glory, as the sun is about to go down. It is stuck in my mind and heart.
