My company is rebranding

I cant imagine many of you could give two monkys balls about F8 Creates ... but since we are responsible for this place im going to show you anyway as I'm very proud of what we have done so far ...
we used to have this logo ...

and now we have this ...

There is even some thought behind it ...

Be interested to here some arty folks opinion on it ...
What does it "say" to you?

Well, as I said the other day. I like it. And I also like the more 'arty' look of the temporary home page. This is a much more grown0up (if you see what I mean) logo. And it has a more corporate feel to it which I think balances well with the current look of the page. Does that make any sense?

I have to agree with Pete here.
It does look more grown up, but I'd say the logo isn't too corporate-ish , it's got it's edgy-ness with it not being a typical boring standard formal font.
I'm not (personally) sure on the top half of the 8 being smaller than the bottom. My initial impression was a snowman, or just a fat bloke? If you can see it that way.
I like the F though .

It does look quite funky , it could be slightly more photography orientated though, example I just knocked up:

You could change Roliflex to 'creates', its just an idea

Or indeed using the current logo and making the 8 more like a TLR with the 'taking lens' stopped down a bit:

Nice new logo Hamish - we did the same thing at work as we ended 2012 and have a very modern logo and new website

I think it's good to refresh and change as the company grows - it shows that you're moving forward, and you have a new perspective on everything.

Is that X Y Z chart thingy one of those golden triangle hifi listening distance thingies?

I think the 8 looks like you're staring down the barrel of a big gun - go ahead punk, make my business day

What do you do for a living David?

I'm a web analyst for a top London advertising agency, but do have a degree in marketing (with advertising), I don't own anything fancy like Photoshop though lol I sometimes have good ideas though lol, did you want me to think of others?

Seriously though, I like it. It has a more contemporary look without being too out there. Nice rounded lines (I'm a sucker for rounded lines; I don't like angular stuff as much for some reason.)
