My current kit

My current kit consists of A Nikon D40 which I bought off of Frank Baker a couple of years ago. I have a 18-55mm and 55-200mm VR lense, though I rarely use the VR as im not sure its working %100 and it makes the camera very slow to focus.

Ideally id like to upgrade to something a bit more modern but as always money is an issue and I think il stick to saving up for a 70-300mm lense so I dont need to stand so close at some of the rallys I go to!

I also have a fairly old Fuji A400 point and shoot which isnt a bad little camera but me and it struggle a bit with poor conditions and zoom and so again id like to upgrade to something with a few more modern features

The 70-300mm is an excellent lens and well priced too. For anything better from Nikon there is a huge jump in price! Apparently the Sigma 70-300 is not so good. This pic was taken with my Nikon 70-300 AFS. Image quality is pretty good even when considering the amount of glass between you and the subject.

Bit of an update, today I bought myself a Nikon S8000 compact camera as my old Fuji A400 was getting on a bit and starting to much through batteries.

Is that at full zoom? I could have done with something like that at the Ypres rally I went to last week as all the good corners were so far from where we were allowed to stand!

Cheers mate, I will hopefully be going to a rally sprint on Sunday to try it out. Tis just a shame I missed the courier by 20 minutes and will have to drive into Exeter to pick it up now!
