At the far end of the pier one day, after having lunch at Ruby's with Meg(daughter #2). They serve a delicious malted milk at Ruby's! You can just make out Catalina Island on the horizon.

Canon T-50 and Canon 28mm FD lens. The film was Kodak Gold 400.

Ha ha, what a moment - looks like a model shoot for the local camera club - she'll not pedal far in those heels! :D

I like the way the railing frames-up the foreground, and echos the guys sweater - also the way the stances of the photographers kind of draws you round to the subject.

We have a Ruby's on the local pier at O'Side - my dad says he had his best burger ever there! :)

First thing I thought of was how's she gonna peddle that bike!

Top class "greasy spoon," Ruby's! Burgers are good as is just about everything I've tried there. (Don't go there too often mind you.) If you go, Chris, try the malted milk. (It's different from the "milk shake" which they also make.) The vanilla is a killa!

Thanks for the comments on the picture, Chris. (This one will be a bit of a test for Pete's microscope eyes. We'll see what he makes of the spots on the horizon. ;))

Nice tones Brian. I like the way they work with the look of the model but jar with the photographers (as my friend Solveig always asks, "Why do modern photographers have to look like such slobs?!!"). I guess it wasn't as warm as the outfit the model is wearing suggests!

And on an artistic note, I like the way the sea slopes away from the ships suggesting a rejection of consumerist society (and maybe a spot of something from the hip flask in the malted drink!).

Pete - can't believe you missed the oil-rigs framing the model! :D

Thanks, Pete!

Yeah that's it. It's what I meant! LOL!

Hip flask adjuncts to malted milk notwithstanding,...those are oil drilling platforms.
