Long Beach, California. Built in 1929. It must be well-built because it stood through the 1933 Long Beach earthquake with little damage. According to Wikipedia, the first Miss Universe Pageant took place here in 1952.

I took this shot through the sunroof of my car while stopped at a traffic light. I had no way to compose the image through the camera's viewfinder, and apparently I failed to set the focus to infinity too, but I am pretty happy with what I got.

I used my Olympus XA with Fuji Neopan 400 film that I developed in Rodinal 1:100.

Pete,...thanks. I am actually in awe of your powers of observation. You seldom fail to point out something in my images that I hadn't noticed. (And I'm not talking about scanner dust here.) :o

Love it (and learning a lot from you and others here of RPF)!

That's gotta be a good thing!

I've been mulling over something ...
I started off looking at pictures hoping to find somthing to say about them ...
I now find my self looking at pictures in a much more indepth manner ... No nessasarily looking for somthing to say, just looking closer at pictures!
I've found this quite beneficial, I get more out of all sorta of imagery since being a member here ... And not just photos, films, graphic design, type set ... Eye candy basically! I think it's probably beneficial to me in quite a lot of ways...
I'd actually say this is probably one of the biggest things this forum has done for me, and I'm most chuffed about it!

There is even a lot that bothers me less, if I saw this picture a year ago, I know I would have been bugged by the lamp, but now I just see it as a part of the shot ... It's hard to explain without it sounding like I'm still bothered by the lamp... But I'm not, it's there because it's there!
Same went for some modern buildings in a picture of a church Davie posted ... There because they are there ... Does that make any sence?

One way or another, it's actually made photography easier for me, both to create and observe ... But less good at being critical ... I'm not sure if thats good or bad really?

Well, I'm bothered by the lamp! :D

Though it's not my usual style, I love this building. I used to date a girl who lived here a long time ago, so that may have something to do with it :-). Good spontaneous shot, Brian.

She was all the way up at the top, in a tiny little apartment that must have been a janitor's closet previously. Nice view, but facing northeast, inland towards the airport and mountains. It was many years ago, during a period where I was more or less on hiatus from photography, so I don't have any pictures.
