An enjoyable feature of the Oktoberfest entertainment at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, California. I shot this with my Canon F-1 and Fomapan 100 film which I pushed 3 stops to 800 ASA. I developed the film in Rodinal.

The contrast is perfect in this eh?
There is somthing very "grey" about a lot of black and white photography these days that comes from digital images ...
You avoid this by using film, but also often seem to get just the right contrast ...
I have no idea if it's skill or luck ;) hehe
Really nice mate

(sorted you issue too :))

I wanted the picture from the kids' eye view, so I hunkered down behind them as best I could and took the shot. Lady Luck handled it from there.

Thanks Hamish!

(And thanks for sorting that other issue out.)

Now that is probably your most intriguing title yet - I had no idea what to expect. Brilliant!! What a great shot too. I love the guy the left and his eyes. And the kids in the front framing the shot is super along with the blur of the spoons (that sounds a bit like 'The Silence of the Lambs' doesn't it!!).

I've been in Köln all week and on Friday Karneval kicked off. We escaped beforehand though as the idea of being caught up with 10's of thousands of drunk people in fancy dress and Lederhosen listening to 'comedians' and 'oompah' was too much, despite the potential photo opportunities!!

Thanks a lot, Pete. Serendipity strikes again, eh? A nano-second earlier or later I don't get Mr. Man-On-The-Left's eyes that way.

If Karneval is anything like Oktoberfest I can understand the attraction. That German beer is worth wearing Lederhosen for! ;)

Thanks again, Pete!
