Folks were asking @Nathan Wright about why the d800 is annoying in the studio ... this is why

Crappy, dim, grainy near useless live view ...

This is the result, not quite on a par with Nathan's excellent work, but this is not big paying work for me (and i'm not as good as Nathan )

BTW - there's a fingerprint on your plinth - LHS near the end - I know you'd want to know before @Pete Askew or @Nathan Wright spot it!

mytek! Excellent. I did not expect to see DSD here in the RPF. Thank you. Yes, you did a good job showing why it sucks. I want to also. I took a7r/D800 back to back live view photos and they... are stuck on a compact flash card with no card reader. Bugger.

BTW, there are not enough wide- semi wide angle audio shots of smaller amps. I love the angle.

Thanks Nathan, it's shot with the 45mm. The wide looking effect is from shifting the lens down (I'm crap with the terminology of shift lenses) ... Basically, it's shot from above with the perspective corrected... I find this adds a bit of subtle drama to the subject without it looking obviously distorted or too in-your-face!

I think it gives power to the subject. I have shot some with a 50mm lens and am thinking of picking up a 45 TS lens to try to accomplish what you have done. It is very well done.

Spot-on Mr Gill and a good illustration on the problems with the LV. The Camranger view is worse I think and tethering doesn't help.
