Well - it didn't go as planned!

Loaded the test roll and when I got out to shoot after driving about 90 miles - it wasn't working! The meter lights just flickered and died - and that was that. New batteries in the grip so that wasn't it. I had my Nikon FM2n with me - same camera battery - so tried that - nothing!

Shoved it back on the shelf at home and sulked.

Yesterday I had a thought - maybe the battery out of the FM2n has enough charge to work the simple meter in that mechanical camera but not enough for the Contax? Stuck two new LR44 batteries in the Contax and SHE'S ALIVE!!!!! wahoooo

Nice one Dave. I picked up one for my daughter a couple of years ago, it had the Carl Zeiss Planer 1.7/50 on it. Sadly the camera packed up after 7 months , but the shop replaced it with something else and let me keep the lens, which i still use.
I did like the camera a lot when I used it.

Well - I used it today with a nice little Yashica 28mm F/2.8 I picked up at the weekend.

What an absolute joy of a camera to use! Using that and the Fuji X-T1 - looking through the viewfinder of the Fuji thinking "What a great viewfinder" - then looking through the Contax and thinking - O-M-G... now THAT is a viewfinder LOL!

I hope the shots are ok - because on feel and useability this baby gets a 10!
