Critique Welcomed New 'boat houses' - Encinitas CA

Chris Dodkin

They have just finished building these combo retail and overhead apartments along Highway 101 in Encinitas, just a couple of blocks from the beach.

The wooden construction, and the prominent 'bow-like' features, echo the shapes of boats. making them an interesting subject.

Today dawned sunny and clear, so I figured it was a good day to shoot the new buildings, before they were sold and occupied.

All shots X-Pro1 - all 3 lenses used, with CPL filter.

Those are some beautiful shots and very fine architectural photography, Chris. Nice to show me how arch photography is possible with an X-pro 1... did you nominate these for Orchids & Onions?

Thanks Darren - missed the Aug 15th deadline for the 2012 nominations

X-Pro still on your radar then?

If you look at the first two shots there's a pro photog shooting the buildings - I assume for the sales material. He was shooting
Nikon and Bronica, but never moved away from the building for a wide shot... odd...
