Critique Welcomed New management

Dan Cattermole

Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
I have now been given the task at my place of work to project manage a culvert cleaning team. I'm hoping to use this picture and submit it to our monthly magazine to promote our well doing.
What do you think?

Dan - props to you for taking a camera down there in the first place!

Like the B&W and the angled comp a lot

I'd like to play with getting the blacks a little blacker to give it a little more punch maybe - probably just me! :D

I agree with Chris, too, Dan, regarding the blacks. This type of photography (construction/industrial) is very interesting to me. There is something about documenting man's efforts to build and control his environment that is very appealing. I would be doing the same as you if I were in your position. Great shot! (If the editor of your company magazine does not use this image on the cover then he or she is an imbecile!:))

Well done for getting down there Dan and the shot is strong and provides the information.

I have been disappointed with the black and white results from the Fuji, well, my one anyway. Images tend to have a very grey appearance and always necessitate a visit to the dreaded Photoshop hospital for minor surgery. My old and a lot cheaper Panasonic compact produced mono image that my expensive Fuji would die for:).

More contrast is all that's needed in my opinion. When it comes to document the project, you should absolutely proceed with it.

I have to agree Tom:(, try out the Pentax K30 or 50, they are identical. Very happy with the small Pentax;)
