Greetings, My name is John Codd, I live in Crayford Kent,UK,( I will be 80 in two weeks time, please ignore this bit)
I have been interested in photography for 50+ years, most of which was using film stock. Had mostly Nikon
equipment, 35mm, and some 120 film used in other cameras which I used to collect.I have always done my own
developing and printing, black and white and colour. When I retired ( as a Research engineer at the Royal Marsden
Cancer Hospital) I started to get interested in Digital Photography, and eventually bought my first camera which
was a part exchange for some of my Nikon stuff, it was an Olympus C-5060 Wide Zoom,I still have this camera and
am amazed at the quality of it and what it produced, my next camera was a Fuji FinePix S9500 another excellent
camera for its day and price.I also own a Ricoh Caplio R7 as a pocketable camera,( an underrated maker!) as you
can see as I have grown older I have gradually cut down on the weight of my equipment,no more of the good old
days of a bag full of camera bodies and lenses. I have now been treated for my birthday to a Fuji x10 a modern camera built like the old rangefinder cameras. Hope I haven't bored any one, kind regards John.

Welcome John
Certainly won't bore anyone on here, look forward to seeing some of your stuff, sounds like you got a lot of experience, thats a polite way of saying your age without saying it. Enjoy for forum and the people on it. How you finding the X10, I use as my take everywhere camera and love it.

welcome John to this great little, well not so little these days photography forum. I am sure you will enjoy your stay and find it to be a friendlily place to share your knowledge, photos & seek any help that you may need ( i doubt that with 50 years experience )

I to have the Fuji x10 and love it to pieces, love the retro styling & the image quality is pretty dam good to be honest, and also it shoots RAW :)

Welcome to the forum, John.
I am looking forward to seeing some images you have produced over the years and no doubt learning a thing or two :) I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

Welcome John. Have you kept any of your old film cameras and equipment? Do you still shoot any film at all? Anyway, looking forward to seeing some images.

Welcome to the forum John - glad you found us, and congratulations on the new camera.

I'll be interested to see what you think of it, how does it stack up against other cameras you've owned in the past?

If you have some pictures to share, we're all about looking at people pictures! :)

Thanks Kev,nice to hear from you. Have only just got the Fuji X10, very pleased with it but will let you know later how it goes.
John

Thanks Chris,I am very pleased with the construction of the Fuji X10, it certainly comes up very well against cameras I have
owned in the past, I have not had it long enough to really test the digital side in depth, but hope to do so soon. John

Thanks Darren, As most of my experience has been with film cameras, I'm sure going to need some help with Digital, haven't tried
Raw yet, still feeling my way through the menus. John

Thanks Brian, still have a small collection of film cameras, have been very tempted to run a few films through them, particularly
as my wife asked me the other day if she could throw the old film out of the fridge, it is only about 20 years out of date, happy days. John

Thanks Brodie, I am trying to get myself organized,(slowing down a bit now as I get older) hopefully I will be able to post some pics soon, and am always happy to help if possible.John
